fonts-meera-taml software package provides free font for Tamil, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-meera-taml
fonts-meera-taml is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-meera-taml package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-meera-taml *
You will get with fonts-meera-taml package name, version, architecture and description in a table
